You
need to locate the case database from your old handheld
and copy it to your new device.
The case database is contained in a file called ObGynStatTrkDB.PDB
on your desktop computer. The easiest way to find this
file is to search your hard drive for this name. The file
is usually found in the path:
PC: My Computer>Drive C>Program Files>Palm>Users>[your
HotSync ID]>Backups
Mac: Macintosh HD>Applications>Palm>Users>[your
HotSync ID]>Backups
If
you have already run Ob/Gyn StatTracker on your new handheld
and performed a subsequent HotSync, there will be two
copies of this file on your computer. You will need to
determine which one contains the data from your older
device. You can usually recognize the older data because
the file size will be much larger than the size of the
new ObGynStatTrkDB.PDB file. You can also tell the older
file because it will be in the Backups folder of the HotSync
ID associated with your older handheld.
We STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you make backups of both
of these files before continuing in case you choose
the wrong file by mistake.
Once you have found the proper file, open the Palm Desktop
software and choose Install... from the button on the
left (PC) or from the HotSync menu (Mac). Now choose the
correct ObGynStatTrkDB.PDB file and install it to the
new device. When you start Ob/Gyn StatTracker on your
new handheld, you should see your old case list appear.
