Unlock key problems


The unlock key for each individual user of Anesthesia StatTracker is custom generated and calculated based on the user's HotSync ID.

A HotSync ID is a name that you assigned to your handheld device ("Palm," "Handspring Visor," "Sony Clie," etc.) soon after the device was first used, the first time the you put the device in the cradle and performed a HotSync. This is usually some form of the your name. The exact spelling and punctuation must be provided accurately for the purpose of generating an unlock key for the software, otherwise the unlock key assigned won't work.

For example, Dr. Martha Anderson has a Palm m505 and purchases a license for the program. The first time she performed a HotSync with her device she gave it a name of:

M. Anderson

If she provides the HotSync ID exactly as shown above, a valid unlock key will be created and she will be able to have full use of the software.

The following are examples of names that will NOT provide working unlock keys:

Martha Anderson
Martha Anderson, M.D.
Dr. Martha Anderson
marthaanderson
m. anderson

Even though all of these names identify the same person, none of these in the latter group of names will generate a valid key because they have different spelling and capitalization of the actual HotSync ID, M. Anderson.

Therefore it is critical that you provide your HotSync ID accurately. If you are confused about where to find your HotSync ID, look at our registration page.

If it appears that you entered your HotSync ID incorrectly at the time of purchase, please send an email to our support division with your actual HotSync ID so that we can provide you with a working unlock key

DO NOT GO THROUGH THE REGISTRATION PROCESS AGAIN as doing so will cause your credit card to be charged a second time. Also, there is NO NEED to download the installer and reinstall the application again as this will NOT help solve the problem. We apologize for any frustration this process may cause, but your email will have to be read by a human being before you can get a working unlock key. We check our support email several times a day and usually respond the same day.


I'm sure my HotSync ID is correct. What should I do?

If it appears that you entered your HotSync ID correctly, it means that there is some subtle difference between what you entered at the time of purchase and your actual HotSync ID. In this case you should provide us with the numeric representation of your HotSync ID, which can be obtained from within the StatTracker application as shown at right. Starting from the main view with the list of patients, tap on the menu icon to reveal the menu at the upper left of the screen. Choose "HotSync ID" from the menu ...

...and you will be taken to a screen with your HotSync ID and its numeric representation. Email the support division with this sequence of numbers so that we may calculate a valid unlock key for you.
